OIV AMBASSADOR
REPORTS TO: OIV Program Manager
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Possess and expand upon a strong knowledge base of Cherokee crafts & culture and have a willingness to teach all Villagers to help grow and enhance their knowledge. You are knowledgeable in all areas of the Village and can step in at a moment’s notice to relieve, cover, and teach when needed. Your customer service skills are at the top level and all guests who have an interaction with you have left with a great appreciation for the Village.

- Greet guests upon arrival to Oconaluftee Indian Village.
- Deliver lectures through a guided tour or at designated zones as deemed appropriate.
- Know all Village lectures including both Square Grounds and Council House.
- Possess ability to demonstrate each craft and relieve Artisans at specified times.

Demonstrators will perform the process and techniques for making authentic Cherokee crafts for the guests.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Village costumer will make sure the Village staff has authentic Cherokee attire to wear for presentations to our guests. Must be creative, clean, and maintain proper attire for any Village employee that requires specified attire and Tsalagi Touring Group.
JOB DUTIES:
- Issues traditional attire daily to staff for use.
- Cleans and maintains all attire issued from the costume shop.
- Launder clothing daily.
- Keep track of inventory with monthly counts.
- Creates new pieces to replace old or worn out clothing.
- Keep shop clean and organized.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Ensure efficient operation of the Box Office, Concessions, and Retail of Oconaluftee Indian Village (OIV) while providing excellent customer service.
JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for effectively managing Box Office, Concessions, and Retail operations team to insure efficient operation, inventory management, accurate money handling, and reporting.
- Practice confidentiality at all times.
- Makes recommendations regarding improvements to goods and services and operational procedures.
- Must be knowledgeable of Cherokee craft work and craft materials.
- Ability to communicate with local craft sellers and vendors while updating and organizing inventory as needed.
- Must be knowledgeable of ticketing and POS platforms, ticketing/receipt printers and able to maintain proper functionality of all systems.
- Conduct trainings for new hires and refresher training for returning and current employees.
- Act as the IT liaison with internet, phone, security system, and computer providers for all areas of the OIV campus.
