Group Sales Representative

Department: Operations
Reports to: Operations Director
Location: CHA Main Office, 564 Tsali Blvd, Cherokee NC
Job Type: Seasonal with possibility to extend, 40 hours/week
Pay: TBA

Primary Function: The Group Sales Representative serves as the initial contact for groups by assisting in providing information about Cherokee Historical Association’s venues and ticket options. Strong communication and customer service skills, along with attention to detail, are required for this position. 

Job Duties: 

  • Answers phones and assists groups in making, altering, or canceling reservations
  • Responds to emails with reservation information, confirmations, and additional venue details
  • Advise groups regarding package deals or any available booking upgrades that may enhance their visit
  • Answers all questions regarding venues, seasonal dates, and promotions
  • Accurately records customer information into the ticketing software, charges credit card upon successful reservations, and sends confirmations
  • Coordinate and administer group mailings by email or direct mail
  • Must continually seek group leads through internet or other sources for group mailings
  • Maintains database for group sales leads and increases its volume
  • Helps groups plan itineraries by suggesting local attractions and places of interest
  • Must keep booking calendar up to date for all venues

Job Knowledge

Must have knowledge of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians culture. Possess ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, and have a “customer first” attitude. Must be diligent, professional, and trustworthy. Must have a passion for hospitality and a strong commitment to customer service satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry
  • Multitasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to handle high volume of calls and messages
  • Ability to interact with a variety of nationalities
  • Ability to learn ticketing software
  • Ability to organize and maintain files for accessibility and retention of reservations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and display good judgement regarding privileged information
  • Ability to work with others in a friendly, positive manner
