Part two of meet the cast! Meet the cast of the 2026 season of Unto These Hills outdoor drama! We have a lot of talented folks to introduce you to, so this is just part one. Stay tuned to meet the many faces it takes to bring the story of the Cherokee people to life each season.
Nakos Calhoun
Nakos Calhoun is 8 years old and lives in the Big Y community with his mom. He’s an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and a member of the Deer Clan. Nakos plays travel basketball, soccer and also enjoys skateboarding. In school, Nakos likes learning about science and history.
This is Nakos’s second season in the Youth Ensemble of Unto These Hills. We are happy to have him back onstage!
Ryan Campos
Ryan Campos is so excited to be spending the summer as part of the Unto These Hills company! He is a current sophomore at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY where he is pursuing a BFA in Acting. Originally from Charlotte, NC, Ryan grew up performing at Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, where you may have caught him in the 2024 production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever the Musical as Ralph Herdman.
This is Ryan’s first season in Unto These Hills. You can see him onstage playing Soldier Smith and in some of the dances. We are happy to have him!
Ayosgi Climbingbear
Ayosgi Climbingbear is an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. He is the son of Kayla Climbingbear. This is Ayosgi’s first year with Unto These Hills. He decided to join his younger brother onstage this year, and we’re happy to have him!
Ozias Climbingbear
Ozias Climbingbear is an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and the son of Kayla Climbingbear. This is his second year acting in Unto These Hills outdoor drama. In his spare time, Ozias enjoys playing stickball and skateboarding with his brothers. Last year, Ozias joined us for the first time in the youth ensemble. This summer, you can see Ozias playing Wasseton, Tsali’s youngest son, three days a week.
Christina Crooks
Christina is from Jackson, Tennessee and graduated from Union University with a BA in Theatre. She is thrilled to be playing in the sand again for her fourth season of Unto These Hills. Her most recent acting credits include Charolette at Kringle’s Inventionasium, Fleance and Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Angelo in A Comedy of Errors, Painter and Timandra in Timon of Athens, a Teaching Artist with Bright Star Touring Theatre, and Diana and Rinaldo in All’s Well The End’s Well. She gives all that she does to God and His glory. She would also like to thank her family and friends for their continued love and support.
Christina first joined us in 2023 as an Actor/Technician, and has now worked her way up to Technical Director. As the Technical Director, Christina is reasonable for managing the backstage crew, maintaining the sand and set pieces, and making sure scene transitions run smoothly. You can see her onstage as Molly in the tavern scene. We’re always happy to have Christina on the team!
Noqwisi Crowe
Noqwisi Crowe is a citizen of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and lives in the Wolftown community. She graduated from Cherokee High School in 2025. This is Noqwisi’s 6th season working with Unto These Hills. Noqwisi does interpretive sign language for the pre-show band and plays Lucy Stick in the show. In high school, Noqwisi played a villager in Once on This Island, a nun in Sister Act Jr., Lurch in The Addams Family, and Jan in Grease.
Noqwisi first started with Unto These Hills in the youth ensemble. It has been a joy to watch her grow up and now participate in fight scenes and crowd scenes as an adult ensemble member.
Joshua Driver
Joshua is an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and a member of the Bird Clan. This is his third season with Unto These Hills, and he is excited to play Junaluska. He previously played White Path and Sequoyah. While attending Cherokee Central, he was part of the Cherokee Chamber Singers and performed at Disney World, Carnegie Hall, onstage with Foreigner, at Cherokee Days in Washington DC, and with the NC and Charlotte Symphonies performing Si Otsedoha (We’re Still Here)
It has been a pleasure to watch Joshua grow as an actor with Unto These Hills, and we’re thrilled to see him take on the role of Junaluska this year. You can also see Joshua and his brother Silas perform with the pre-show band.
Silas Driver
Silas is excited to return to Unto These Hills for his 4th season. He is an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and a member of the Bird Clan. While attending Cherokee Central, he was part of the Cherokee Chamber Singers and performed at Disney World, Carnegie Hall, onstage with Foreigner, at Cherokee Days in Washington DC, and with the NC and Charlotte Symphonies performing Si Otsedoha (We’re Still Here)
Silas has played several different roles over the years including White Path and Elias Boudinot. This year you can see him onstage as the Beloved Man in Act 1 and reciting the iconic prayer as Reverend Jesse Bushyhead in Act 2. Silas is a wonderful asset to the cast, and we are always happy to have him back.
Adaneti Durham
Adaneti Durham is an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, and a recent graduate of Cherokee High School. In high school, he participated in the musical theatre program, playing Danny Zuko in Grease his junior year. Adaneti first joined Unto These Hills in the youth ensemble. This year, you can see him playing Lowney, Tsali’s middle son, three days a week, and playing Ochella the other three days.
